Maybe they discovered they were Chosen, so they Ascended, talked to Glint, and got teleported to Draknor's Forge?

they paid a runner to take them, 50k each since that is a long run from ascalon.

The Grawl outside Port Sledge upset me today. I was trying to get that nice bow from the collector standing outside town. I needed 5 Intricate Grawl Necklaces or whatever they are. I got four, then killed killed killed, finally got five. Went back to the collector, who wouldn't trade because I needed one more necklace. ??? So I went back. Killed killed killed. Got another two necklaces, but they weren't showing up in inventory. Hrrrmmm. I think the Grawl must fear that bow.

I think indeed that the Grawl were forced out by the Charr. The Charr are bigger and generally badder and also more aggressive. (the Grawl didn't even aggro pre-searing). And indeed most of them have been ousted from Old Ascalon and there's a massive community of them in the Shiverpeaks. I was running through Lornar's Pass and stopped for tea with a couple Ulodytes. They're actually quite an agreeable tribe if given the chance. You gotta approach them slowly though, their near-genocide at the hands of the Charr have made them rather wary of strangers.

I'd like to be able to play as a Grawl in the expansion.

Ahh not true on them not aggroing Pre-Searing... apparently the three or four Longspears running around Lakeside Country caught a nasty case of the flu, and started shooting at anyone who came close enough to hear them sneezing and urping!

In Green Hills County (pre-sear), I don't know what the grawl have been fed; they will swarm like nothing else if given the chance

In pre-searing, Grawl Longspears and Grawl Shaman's were aggressive. If you aggravated any of those, the other, 'normal' Grawl nearby would join in.
On their own, though, the 'normal' Grawl left you alone unless you attacked them. I think they were too low-level to bother with you. First monsters to have brains! Anyway. It's oddities like this that make me like exploring Guild Wars. I like the idea that they were forced out by the Charr. They may also have just gotten sick of Devourers popping out of the ground whenever they moved five feet in any direction in Ascalon, and so they fought their way to saner places... |

I dont think they were forced out, i mean they are still there in old ascalon when you go through to searing and are even with the charr in some of the maps. And if you pay attention to the story line in pre-searing the grawl are working with the charr against the humans, so i recon the are attacking to Dwarfs as thats the next target.
Also a previous Charr invasion threatened the world if i remember correctly so the grawl are just cannon fodder for the Charr to come later, though i dont really think charr are much of a threat they seem to die really easy, but that could be the fact that my characters are lvl 20 lol. |
